This week’s blog post is a podcast. I know…it’s so 21st century of me. Rest easy, it wasn’t my idea. My good friend, Dr. Drake Williams at Central Schwenkfelder Church invited me to be a guest on their podcast.
This aired on WNPV last week. I pray that it will be helpful to other victims and survivors. Feel free to share it. Thank you, Drake and Central, for inviting me and for your support and concern for victims of abuse.
"Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." ~ Psalm 34:3
This has been the theme verse for my life since I married Doug in 1985. I hope to write thoughts and stories that will magnify the Lord and cause others to praise him with me.
Life has been a series of transitions over the last few years. First, I left my career at The Seeing Eye, Inc. to become the primary caretaker for my in-laws. Since their deaths, I am venturing into writing and expanding my speaking ministry. You can find some of my articles published in http://rubyforwomen.com.
My biggest undertaking is the writing of my first book. It is the story of my experience with childhood sexual abuse and finding freedom from one's past. I've been speaking on this topic for 30 years but am writing it for the first time. The goal is to help other women who feel stuck in the past find freedom, as I did. My life is so full of blessings and joy, and I so desire other hurting women to experience that, too.
The biggest joys of my life are being married to my husband, Doug, raising our three boys, welcoming our three daughters-in-law into the family, and being Mom-mom to our six grandchildren! In addition, I am blessed to serve our church in youth ministry and teach in our Ladies' Bible Study, both for over 30 years.
I am eagerly looking forward to all God has in store for this new season of life!
